FIFA World Cup 2010 Qualification Match: Albania vs Malta
The Authority has received a request from Melita Cable plc to acquire the television rights of this match to be played on 10th September 2008.
In terms of law, free-to-air television broadcasters are entitled to acquire such rights. However, if these stations do not opt for such acquisition, Melita can acquire such rights for live transmission of this game with a free-to-air station being sub-licensed by it to repeat such game within 24 hours of the original transmission.
Please inform me by not later than next Monday 18th August 2008 whether you intend to acquire the television rights for the Albania-Malta game of 10th September 2008. Should I not receive a reply by 18th August, I will take it to mean that you are not interested in acquiring the rights for this game.
