Work on the Għargħur Transmitting Tower
As you know the Authority has been carrying out maintenance work on the tower in these last couple of months. Now that the maintenance will start to be carried out on the very top of the tower, the Authority would like to inform that as from Wednesday, 11th of October 2023 until further notice, weather pemitting, all the transmissions will be switched onto the backup antenna at a reduced transmission power during these works. The Authority will be taking such measure to safeguard the health and safety of its personnel.
Work is expected to start everyday at 08:00 and lasts around 6/7 hours. We are therefore requesting your kind cooperation to start having your technical personnel on standby at Għargħur at 07:30 so that the necessary changes can be applied before switching onto the backup antenna, and then at 14:30, to switch everything back onto the master antenna.
While thanking you for your cooperation, please inform your producers and presenters who will be notifying their listeners accordingly.
