Maintenance work on the Għargħur Transmitting Tower
Given that the works which started last week at the Għargħur Tower was not finalised, please be informed that tomorrow Friday 28th January 2022 the Broadcasting Authority shall be carrying out urgent maintenance repairs on the Għargħur Transmitting Tower, weather permitting. During this period some service interruptions might occur, however, the Authority will be using the back up antenna at a reduced transmission power.
Notwithstanding this there might be the possibility that a complete shutdown of the transmissions from the Tower might be required should the operation addresses any risk.
The plan for repair works will require the lowering of transmission power on Friday 28th January between 08:45 and noon. We kindly ask you to have your technical personnel on standby at Għargħur by 08:30, so that the necessary changes can be applied as soon as the repairs can kick off.
While thanking you for your cooperation, may we remind you that this maintenance is being done to ensure continued viability of the Għargħur Tower. We appreciate if you would inform your producers and presenters who will be notifying their listeners accordingly.
