Transmission power on the reserve antenna
The Authority has recently requested a report which assessed whether radiation emissions from the Għargħur transmission site were compliant with the ICNIRP guidelines. As a result of this, the Authority is kindly requesting that whenever transmissions are switched onto the reserve antenna, the transmission power of all the stations needs to go down to 600W. The Authority will be taking such measure to safeguard the health and safety of the people living in the surrounding area of the site.
Since transmissions are currently being switched onto the reserve antenna every day between 8am and 3pm, due to the maintenance project of the transmission tower, it is important that this guide is maintained for everyone’s benefit.
