Testing of Fireman’s Switch at the Għargħur Transmitting Site
Following the email sent out on the 13th of April 2022, please be informed that on Monday 25th April 2022 the Broadcasting Authority shall be testing the Fireman Switch that was installed at the Għargħur transmitting site. As indicated, services will be down for around 63 seconds until all the equipment has been shifted onto the generator. The generator will be left running on-load for 30 minutes following which there will be another downtime of 63 seconds until all the equipment has been shifted back to the main supply.
The triggering of the fireman switch shall happen at 09:00 on the date indicated above. Therefore, we kindly ask you to have your technical personnel on standby at Għargħur by 08:30, just in case any necessary changes would have to be applied.
While thanking you for your coopeation, may I remind you that this testing shall be performed to make sure that the switch serves it purpose and cuts off all electrical equipment in case of fire. We appreciate if you would inform your producers and presenters about this so that they can inform their listeners accordingly.
