Maintenance work on the Għargħur Transmitting Tower
Due to urgent repairs at the Għargħur tower, please be informed that on Monday 17th January 2022 and Wednesday 19th January 2022, the Broadcasting Authority shall be carrying out urgent maintenance repairs on the Għargħur Transmitting Tower weather permitting. During this period some service interruptions might occur. In order to minimize the impact of this maintenance while safeguarding the health and safety of our personnel, the Authority will be using the back up antenna at a reduced transmission power. However there might be the possibility that a complete shutdown of the transmissions from the tower might be required should the operation addresses any risk.
The plan for repairs will require the lowering of transmission power on Monday 17th January 2022 between 09:00 and noon and on Wednesday 19th January 2022 between noon and 16:00. We kindly ask you to have your technical personnel on standby at Għargħur by 08:30, so that the necessary changes can be applied as soon as the repairs can kick off.
While thanking you for your cooperation, may we remind you that this maintenace is being done to ensure continued viability of the Għargħur tower. We appreciate if you would inform your producers and presenters who will be notifying their listeners accordingly.
